“It’s not about being better than “them.” It’s about being better than your best was yesterday”
I started CrossFit in the Spring of 2012, right in the middle of the Open. My first workout was 12.4 (150 Wall Balls, 90 Double Unders and 30 Muscle Ups). Needless to say, I couldn’t do the majority of the movements and scaled that workout big time; but regardless, I was hooked.
What drew me to CrossFit initially and what keeps me coming back is the community. I had never met any of the individuals in the gym that day, but they cheered and encouraged me to complete the workout even though I was the last one to finish. I fell in love with the idea of pushing myself every day to be better than I was the day before, to achieve things that I once didn’t think was physically possible for myself.
CrossFit lit a fire and drive inside of me to shoot for goals that some may not think are attainable both in and outside of the gym. And that is exactly what I hope to help others do as a coach. Whether it be to get your first pull up, or double unders, be able to get upside down on the wall, or maybe even compete at a higher level. I love being able to have the opportunity to help others achieve their goals and get stronger and healthier every day. As a CrossFit coach, my goal is to motivate, encourage and help others be the best version of themselves both inside and outside if the gym.
